CamPlot Viewfinder vs Artemis

Artemis by Chemical Wedding is the long-standing industry viewfinder, with a camera and lens database updated weekly and an add-on for external cameras. The CamPlot Director’s Viewfinder is built around what happens after framing: five modes — photo, video with the look baked in, an exposure meter, a LiDAR room scanner and a monitor calibrator — 230+ LUTs you can export for your camera’s log, and frames that land on your CamPlot camera plot.

Questions

CamPlot or Artemis?

Is the CamPlot Viewfinder an alternative to Artemis?

Yes. Both show the frame of a real cinema camera and lens on an iPhone. Artemis has the larger, weekly-updated database and tools like virtual stand-ins and External Camera Mode. CamPlot adds video recording with the look baked in, an exposure meter, a LiDAR room scanner, a monitor calibrator, LUT export for camera log formats, and a direct link to CamPlot Creator’s camera plots.

How much do Artemis and the CamPlot Viewfinder cost?

As of October 4, 2026, Artemis is a free download with $3.99 a month, $16.99 a year or a $29.99 Core licence, plus add-ons. The CamPlot Director’s Viewfinder is unlocked by CamPlot Plus ($29.99 a year or $3.99 a month) or CamPlot Max ($49.99 a year, which also includes CamPlot Creator), with a free trial.

Can I load a CamPlot look into my cinema camera?

Yes. Pick the look, then your camera’s log — S-Log3, LogC4, C-Log3, V-Log, Apple Log and 13 more — and CamPlot composes the manufacturer’s own log-to-709 conversion under the look and hands you a single .cube file for the camera or the DIT cart.

CamPlot Studio makes CamPlot, so weigh this page accordingly. We describe every other app from its own App Store listing, website and launch coverage, checked on October 4, 2026 (sources below). If something here is out of date, tell us at support@camplot.studio and we will fix it.
