Terms of Service
Last updated: September 16, 2026
Who we are
CamPlot Studio ("CamPlot", "we", "our", "us") is operated by Romany Films Inc. These terms cover camplot.studio and the CamPlot apps, including CamPlot Viewfinder and CamPlot Calculators. By creating an account or using the apps, you agree to them.
How we handle your data is covered separately in our Privacy Policy.
Your account
You need an account to save work, and you are responsible for what happens under it. Give us an email address you can actually receive mail at — it is how we reach you about your subscription. One person, one account: accounts are not to be shared or resold. Sharing a plot with your crew through CamPlot's own sharing features is exactly what it is for, and is not account sharing.
You must be at least 13 years old to use CamPlot.
Account levels
CamPlot has three levels. What each one includes is shown in the app and on the website, and may change as the product develops — we will not reduce what a level includes during a period you have already paid for.
| Level | Cost |
|---|---|
| CamPlot Crew | Free, with no time limit |
| CamPlot Plus | Paid subscription |
| CamPlot Max | Paid subscription, includes the standalone Viewfinder and Calculators apps |
Current prices are shown at the point of purchase and are the ones that apply. If we change prices, existing subscribers keep the price they signed up at until we tell them otherwise, and any increase will be notified in advance.
Where you bought matters
A subscription bought on camplot.studio is billed by us through Stripe. A subscription bought inside an iPhone or iPad app is billed by Apple, and Apple's own terms apply to it as well as these.
This is not a formality: each one can only be changed where it was bought. We cannot change, cancel or refund an App Store subscription, and Apple cannot change one bought on our website. The app tells you which you have and where to go.
Free trials
New subscribers may be offered a free trial. If you do not cancel before it ends, the subscription begins and you are charged.
On camplot.studio the offer is one trial per person, ever. In the iPhone and iPad apps it is Apple that decides whether a trial is offered, against your Apple Account, and the App Store shows you the terms before you confirm. Where no trial is offered, the subscription starts and is charged straight away.
Changing your level
You can move between levels at any time, and it works the same way wherever you bought:
- Moving up takes effect immediately. You are credited for the time you had already paid for on the lower level.
- Moving down takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep the higher level until then.
Cancelling
You can cancel whenever you like. Cancelling stops the next payment; it does not cut your access short. You keep your level until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the account becomes CamPlot Crew.
Your work is not deleted when you cancel. Your shows and plots stay in your account. Features belonging to a paid level stop working, so anything that depends on them will be unavailable until you subscribe again.
If you want your data removed entirely, that is account deletion, which is described in the Privacy Policy and is not the same as cancelling.
Refunds
Subscriptions are generally not refundable — the free trial exists so you can decide before paying. Two exceptions:
- If you were charged twice for the same thing. If an account ends up with both a website subscription and an App Store subscription running at once, tell us and we will refund the period they overlapped, on whichever of the two we are able to refund. Because only Apple can refund an App Store purchase, we can always do this for the website subscription; for the Apple one we can only support your request to Apple, and the decision is theirs.
- If something went wrong on our side and you could not use what you paid for, get in touch. We would rather sort it out than argue about it.
Refund requests for App Store purchases go to Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We have no ability to issue them.
Your work belongs to you
Everything you create in CamPlot — your plots, ground plans, images, camera reports and notes — is yours. We claim no ownership of it. We store and process it only to run the service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.
You give us permission to store, copy and transmit your content strictly as needed to provide CamPlot: to save it, sync it between your devices, and share it with the people you choose to share it with. Nothing more.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload.
CamPlot Enterprise
CamPlot Enterprise is a set of CamPlot Max seats bought by an organisation (the "enterprise") for its people, managed by the enterprise's own administrators from the enterprise portal. It is sold per seat, by card or by invoice, for a yearly term agreed in an order form — signed on paper or electronically at camplot.studio/enterprise-apply; the order form and these terms together are the agreement.
Seats. A seat is one CamPlot account. The enterprise's administrators add and remove people; an invitation reserves a seat until it is accepted or withdrawn. The enterprise decides who holds a seat, not us.
What administrators can do — please read this before you accept a seat. While your account holds an enterprise seat, the enterprise's administrators can see the projects on your account, download copies of them, and turn link sharing on or off for them, without asking you each time. They can also share ground plans and objects with everyone on the team. Accepting an invitation is your agreement to this. Administrators cannot sign in as you, read your password, or change your projects.
Your work is still yours. An enterprise seat does not transfer ownership of anything you make. The enterprise may keep the copies it downloaded while you were a member; the originals stay on your account. If you already had a CamPlot account, nothing on it moves or changes when you join, and nothing is deleted when you leave.
Leaving or being removed. When an administrator removes you, you keep CamPlot Max for seven more days, then your account continues on whatever you had before — a subscription you pay for yourself, a level we granted you, or CamPlot Crew, which is free. We email you the date and the choices. While you hold a seat, your account can only be deleted after the enterprise has removed you.
If you were paying yourself. When you accept a seat and have a CamPlot subscription billed by us, we set it to end at the close of its current period so you are not billed twice. A subscription billed through the App Store is between you and Apple: we cannot cancel it, and we will tell you where to.
Billing, pausing and ending. The enterprise is billed for its seats yearly in advance, by invoice, for the whole term; seats can be added during the term. An enterprise starts when its first invoice is paid (or earlier, if we agree to that). If an invoice is still unpaid when it falls due, or the enterprise's subscription ends, its members keep their seats for fourteen more days; if it is still not sorted out after that, every seat is paused — each member continues on whatever they had before, as described above, and nothing is deleted — and the seats come back as soon as the invoice is paid. If the enterprise ends for good, its seats end the same way. The enterprise's account holder can be changed by writing to enterprise@camplot.studio.
What we own
CamPlot itself — the software, its design, the CamPlot name and marks — belongs to Romany Films Inc. Your subscription is permission to use it, not a transfer of it. Please do not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or rebrand the app.
Fair use
Do not use CamPlot to break the law, to store or share unlawful material, to attack or overload the service, or to get around its account levels. We may suspend or close an account that does, and will tell you why.
Availability, and what CamPlot is not
We work hard to keep CamPlot running and to keep your work safe, but no online service is perfect. We cannot promise it will always be available or completely free of faults, and we may change or discontinue features.
Please keep your own copies of anything a production depends on. CamPlot is a planning tool. It is not a substitute for your own records, and it should not be the only place a shoot-critical document exists. Export what matters.
The Viewfinder shows an approximation. Lens, sensor and framing calculations depend on the camera and lens data you select and on the device's own optics, and are intended as a guide for planning — not as a measured guarantee of what a given camera will record. Check on the day with the actual camera.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, CamPlot is provided as it is, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including lost time, lost work, or costs arising from a production being disrupted. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the problem arose.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and significant changes will be notified in the app or by email. Continuing to use CamPlot after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Ending things
You can stop using CamPlot at any time by cancelling and, if you wish, deleting your account. We may close an account that breaches these terms, or discontinue the service — if we discontinue it while you are paying, we will refund the unused part of what you paid.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction.
